Garry Randall - Drums
Garry started drumming at 15 with Harlow
band SILIKA RICH, then with East London's BIRD OF PREY and briefly with URIAH
HEEP's DAVID BYRON's band followed by FALLEN ANGEL who were a regular at the
Bridge House, Canning Town and were the house support band. The band also were
briefly signed to A&M and had one single "Cant Hold Me Down" released. He then
joined RELAY but left when RELAY started to lean towards more Rush inspired
material.
After a stint with covers band Aunt Lucy (featuring Dave Gray of SIDEWINDER) and
a near miss with rock band TOTAL (who all lived in a house in Bedfordshire and
built a studio in the basement) Garry left the kit behind and stood in front of
the mic with a guitar for two original bands DROP DEAD LEGS (featuring the now
deceased Mick Taylor of Chesham on guitar) and EZ MUNGO who got to play
Hammersmith Odeon and gambled it all Stateside with no success.
On returning to the UK in 1994, and now in Hertfordshire, Garry went back to
drums and joined a few local bands including PLAYERS and BEERHUNTER but the
frontman bug bit again and he formed the long lasting and highly successful
covers band GOODFELLAS and a band playing his own material called FACE FOR RADIO
which featured High Wycombe drummer Dave Quinton.
Then in 2005 he formed 24
Carat Purple with Pete Hartley and they remain the only two original
members. In 2009 he also joined local covers bands FOURPLAY and ROCK BOTTOM and
performed with his own covers band KEROSENE where he returns to the mike stand.
When Rob Sas joined 24CP and Ross left BURN, Garry had lost his seat with
FOURPLAY and so has joined up with BURN for some enjoyable three piece suites.
Garry also failed an audition for Soul Purpose back in 1994 but don't tell
John!!
