The Garry Randall interview
Hi Garry, nice to meet you, welcome to the BURN interview. How did you get the gig?
Well, BURN supported 24 Carat Purple a couple of years ago at The Elgiva in Chesham and within weeks our guitarist fucked off to play in an ELO tribute in Canada or somewhere. We thought Rob was not only a great guitarist, but a brilliantly moody awkward git, perfect for a Purple tribute, so we got him in and he returned the favour.
So are you looking forward to the gigs with BURN?
I would say gig, I’ll probably get the Spanish after Friday night!!
What about the set list?
Well there’s lots to enjoy, but I expect the set list will change over time. I shall be insisting on some Right Said Fred and Slik covers.
Favourite drummers?
Ian Paice, John Bonham, Buddy Rich, Animal and Ross Elder.
When you’re not playing, what else do you get up to?
Oh the usual really, cream cheese wrestling, falconry, setting fire to piers, oh and self abuse of course!
Mmmm, ever had a proper job?
I was an underwater welder in Africa for a while but the work dried up.
Anything you’d like to say to the BURN fans?
I think the vast majority of people in this country are sick and tired of being told that ordinary decent people in this country are fed up of being sick and tired, I’m certainly not and I’m sick and tired of being told I am.
Right then.............And what now?
Back to your place??
